Grillage with Spacer Buttons

The grillage consists of strands of e-glass fibers in rows, forming regular meshes, vacuum treated with a class H modified epoxy resin. Epoxy buttons are of an optimized size and geometry for winding coils. They are attached at regularly-spaced intervals which ensure precise gap spaces while allowing rapid casting or injection of heavily filled epoxy resins from any orientation of the coils.

Gauge Measuring Method (Substrate Only):

A 400 cm2 sample is compressed between 2 steel plates with a weight of 80 kg. The gauge is the average of the measured distances between the 2 plates.

Polymerization:

The grillage (glass mesh with epoxy buttons) is supplied 100% polymerized (state C), which gives a structural rigidity to the product.

Use:

Reinforcement, hoop strength and precise control of gap space between the layers and molds during encapsulation of dry-type transformer coils. Height and spacing of the epoxy buttons allows even heavily filled encapsulating materials to flow freely or be rapidly injected into the unit. Eliminates multiple layering of substartes which can compress and reduce gap space (dielectric) and cause dry spots. Eliminates traditional soak or wicking time. Non mold-released product readily bonds to a variety of resins creating a homogeneous unit. Provides faster, more precise encapsulation resulting in superior insulating properties.

Supplied Form:

Supplied in master rolls (1061mm x 150m) or kits.
